Thailand Cave Diving
Thailand Cave Diving diving offers unique experiences for both recreational and technical divers. The Cavern Diver course allows access to the cave’s natural light zone, making it ideal for recreational exploration. For those ready to venture further, the Intro to Cave and Full Cave Diver courses take you beyond the light, into the dark and more challenging areas of the cave system.
Training in overhead environments significantly sharpens your diving skills. With a focus on precise buoyancy control, efficient finning techniques, and advanced equipment configuration, cave diving helps elevate your overall proficiency and transforms the way you approach every dive.
Thailand has become a rising hotspot for cave diving, with new systems discovered in both the southern and northern regions. Tech Dive Asia in Phuket serves as a convenient base, offering access to renowned cave sites in areas like: Song Hong, Sra Keow (Sa Kaew), Klang Cave and a range of others.

Overhead Level 1 (Cavern):
Cavern Zone means Natural Light Zone. The Cavern course teaches you how to plan and execute safe dives inside the light zone part of the Overhead Environment. This also means slightly more restrictive limits, such as Depth, Linear Penetration Distance, Gas Management and obviously the time of day the dives get done (There are NO Caverns at night).
The Cavern Course can be done in a Standard Recreational (Single Tank) configuration -preferably using a Long Hose, or in Technical Configuration (Twinset, Sidemount or Rebreather) – We strongly urge students to use a Tech Configuration.
Skills you will learn/practice during the course:
- Line laying and Line procedures
- Line Marker placements and Touch communication
- Lost line and Lost buddy procedures (For Cavern zone)
- Emergency procedures for Broken light, Loss of Visibility and Out Of Gas
- Configuration Specific Emergency Procedures

TDA Prerequisites: Advanced Diver, 50 dives
We teach Cavern Courses under TDI, IANTD, SSI and RAID
Overhead Level 2 (Intro to Cave)
Level 2 programs go beyond the Light Zone and are defined by Simple Navigation Techniques in passages that are not restrictive.
This can mean Single Line, Limited Navigational Decisions, Depth and restrictive Gas Management sets the limitations of penetration distance inside the Overhead Environment.
On the Cave / Intro to Cave Level, we require students to be diving in a Technical Configuration (Twinset, Sidemount or Rebreather)

Fun Cave Diving – For Certified Cave Divers Only
When people think of cave diving destinations, Thailand might not be the first place that comes to mind—but that’s quickly changing. As more water-filled caves are discovered across the country, interest in cave diving here is steadily growing. Thailand is home to extensive limestone formations, which have created a variety of spectacular underwater cave systems.
Currently, we have access to nine diveable caves within a four-hour drive from Phuket. These caves, formed over thousands of years as water eroded the soft limestone, offer stunning natural formations—some extending for miles. In fact, Thailand has hosted some of the deepest cave dives in Asia.
The Krabi province features a range of limestone caves, with additional sites located further south in Nakhon Si Thammarat and Surat Thani provinces.
Our goal is to offer certified cave divers a unique and exciting way to explore Thailand’s hidden underwater landscapes. Whether you’re looking for exploration, depth, or simply a new adventure, we organize cave diving trips suited to a variety of experience levels.
Thailand’s appeal as a destination for active, adventure-seeking traveler makes it the perfect place to enjoy world-class cave diving in a tropical setting.
