TDI Rebreather Courses

TDI Rebreather Courses cover most units on the market today and are split into three core levels.

There are also additional CCR qualifications and training for different environments

The mod one course is split into three levels the first being Air Diluent. This is a entry level course where no previous rebreather experience is required and no technical diving experience is required. The course is unit specific but there is an easy way to cross over between similar units. Maximum depth 30m

Student Prerequisites

  • Minimum age 18
  • 20 Open Water Dives
  • Nitrox diver

MOD 1 Air Diluent Deco


The TDI Air Diluent Closed Circuit Rebreather Decompression Procedures Diver course is designd to help develop CCR diving skills to a maximum depth of 40m. You learn to use air as a diluent for decompression diving.

Student Prerequisites

  • Minimum age 18
  • 20 Open Water Dives
  • Advanced Nitrox diver – or equivalent
  • Decompression Procedures Diver – or equivalent

Or alternatively, Six months ccr experience with 30 hours and 30 dives on the unit.

MOD 1 Helitrox course

The TDI Helitrox Diluent Closed Circuit Rebreather Diver Decompression Procedures Course will help you develop basic CCR diving skills, to a maximum of 45 metres using helitrox diluent for decompression diving. Student are permitted to utilise a diluent and bailout mix with no greater than a 35% helium content and no less than a 21% oxygen content. The course also covers use of up to 100% oxygen for decompression.

Additional Student Prerequisites

  • 50 logged dives
  • Helitrox diver or equivalent

Or alternatively, Six months ccr experience with 30 hours and 30 dives on the unit.

MOD 2 Mixed Gas

The TDI Mixed Gas Closed Circuit Rebreather Diver course is the intermediate level certification course for divers wishing to use a closed circuit rebreather for mixed gas diving to a maximum depth of 60 metres. You will learn to use a trimix gas diluent containing 16 percent or greater oxygen.

Student Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age 18
  • Minimum 50 hours CCR diving over minimum of 50 dives
  • Minimum 10 dives staged decompression
  • Minimum Air Diluent Deco Diver – or equivalent

MOD3 Mixed Gas

The TDI Advanced Mixed Gas Closed Circuit Rebreather Diver course is a unit specific course that focuses on the skills required to engage in technical diving activities using the unit to a max depth of 100 metres using any mixed gas diluent appropriate to the dive plan.

Student Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age 18
  • CCR Mod 2 mixed gas CCR diver or equivalent
  • Minimum 100 dives, 50 dives / 50 hours on the unit below 9m
  • 25 dives deeper than 30m
  • 20 staged decompression CCR Dives
