Mika Lindström

Instructor, Technical, Cave & Mine Diving

Mika Lindström is a highly experienced SSI Instructor and Extended Range specialist with thousands of dives and nearly a decade of professional teaching in Thailand. Mika’s diving journey began in 2011 with a Try Scuba experience while visiting Thailand. From that moment, he knew diving was his calling. Determined to follow his passion, Mika sold everything he owned in Finland and moved to Koh Tao to complete his Divemaster course. After careful consideration, he chose Koh Tao Divers, a decision that would shape his future in diving.

He spent several years working as a Divemaster, gaining extensive hands on experience before achieving his dream of becoming an SSI Instructor in 2017. Today, Mika teaches a wide range of courses, from beginner to professional levels, in both English and Finnish. His technical expertise extends to Extended Range Sidemount, Extended Range Trimix, Wreck Diving, Cavern Diving, Cave Diving, and Mine Diving, where he shares his deep passion for exploration and teaching as an instructor.

Beyond teaching

Mika was a key explorer of Thailand’s Satun underwater cave system, the country’s longest known submerged cave, and is an experienced 3D photogrammetry surveyor and cave mapper.
Mika is especially drawn to mine and cave diving, captivated by the excitement and challenges these overhead environments offer. Yet, his most cherished dives have been with his son, Oliver, sharing unforgettable underwater moments and nurturing a future generation of divers.

At Tech Dive Asia, Mika brings his passion, experience, and explorer’s mindset to every course helping divers push their limits safely while discovering the incredible underwater world of Thailand.
