Tech Dive Asia Booking Terms and Conditions
Insurance
Under Thai Law, its mandatory that each tourist travelling to Thailand has to have a travel insurance for the time spend inside the Kingdom. In our courses Personal Diving Insurance is not included.
Not all Travel Insurance includes diving. Please ensure you have the correct insurance to cover your diver certification level or for the level of course you will be undertaking, (make sure Hyperbaric treatment is included) plus trip cancellation insurance and general holiday insurance.
If you are unsure of where to obtain the correct diving insurance please talk to our staff prior to making you are booking or commencing your training. Tech Dive Asia and it partner companies / Instructors do have professional liability insurance however this is very different to having your own personal insurance cover.
Please ensure your diving insurance details are provided to your Instructor prior to the start of training.
Payment
Deposits: In order to confirm your booking a deposit of 20-50% of your course cost is required to confirm your time slot or instructor. Deposits vary depending on the course you are booking. Your booking is not confirmed until this is received. eLearning or study materials will not be issued until the deposit is received.
- Deposits are made by payment in cash or bank transfer.
- Deposits are paid direct to your Instructor.
- Deposits are non-refundable.
Balance Payments: Balance payment of your course must be received in full prior to the start of your course. Tech Dive Asia and its partner Companies / Instructors hold no responsibility for delays in the banking system.

Equipment Purchases
Equipment orders must be paid in full prior to Tech Dive Asia ordering the equipment. If ordering equipment for a course please ensure plenty of time is allowed for shipping and any supplier delays. Tech Dive Asia and its Instructors can not be held responsible for any supplier or shipping delay.
If your order does not arrive prior to your course scheduled start date the course will be rescheduled at a mutually agreed time.
If no course reschedule is available with 12 months the goods can be collected in person once qualification to use the goods has been verified.
If goods are not collected within 12 months of purchase Tech Dive Asia reserves the right to sell or dispose of the goods to recover storage costs.
Medical
All courses with all agencies require a medical form be completed. Many courses require medical clearance signed by a doctor. Medical forms can be downloaded from the specific agency website. A generic medical form will be provided for non-course diving. Failure to provide a medical form prior to the start of the course / dive trip may result in cancelation of the trip.
It is your responsibility to keep your Instructor appraised of your medical situation. Many minor ailments can be assisted by our Instructor or advice on local medical practitioners provided. Tech Dive Asia and its partners / Instructors can not be held liable for any advice given by its instructors or recommended medical practitioners.
Failure to provide the necessary medical clearance form prior to the start of the course or diving may result in cancelation of the course. If possible the course may be rescheduled once you are fit to dive if an Instructor is available. Additional time or training may incur additional costs.
Certification
Certification is earned not guaranteed. Each agency has its own standards that must be met to qualify for certification. While our Instructors will do everything they can to assist you in achieving that standard sometimes additional training or time may be required. Additional time or training may incur additional costs.
If you are unable to achieve the agency standard within the regular course schedule you may not be certified without additional training. Additional time or training may incur additional costs.
Tech Dive Asia, our Partners and Instructors can not be held responsible for any student not meeting certification requirements within the allocated time frame.
Adverse Conditions
Remoteness of areas, local custom, political unrest, Global Pandemics or prevailing weather conditions may cause substitution of facilities and/or equipment, minor inconveniences or modification to the diving portions of the program itinerary. Tech Dive Asia, our Partners and Instructors reserve the right to modify and/or cancel diving arrangements due to unfavourable weather conditions and to substitute comparable equipment.
No refunds can be made for canceled diving arrangements due to adverse weather, or for substitution of facilities and/or equipment or for services or goods provided in the itinerary. If possible the course may be rescheduled once you are fit to dive if an Instructor is available.
Forms
For courses that require eLearning or prior study it is important that it is completed prior to the start of the Course. Failure to complete the required coursework prior to the start of the course will result in cancelation of the course.
If possible the course may be rescheduled if an Instructor is available. Additional time or training may incur additional costs.
We purchase eLearning from the training agencies for your course at the time your deposit is made. Once the eLearning is assigned to a student there is no refund. If you do not use the eLearning we can not reassign it to another student.
Some courses and some agencies require additional forms to be completed prior to the start of training. If the forms are not completed the course can not be started. If possible the course may be rescheduled if an Instructor is available. Additional time or training may incur additional costs.
Refunds
In most cases there are no refunds. However wherever possible your course / trip can be rescheduled if sufficient notice is provided or it can be facilitated without incurred costs. In some cases part of your course / trip may be rescheduled with some incurred costs to cover.
On occasion partial refunds may be given at Instructor discretion. Typically this is for things like:
- Accidents during your stay – Doctor certificate required
- Flight cancelation by Airline – Letter from airline required
- Family Death – Death certificate required.
- Two weeks notice of change of schedule.

Cancelation
In some extreme cases if you need to cancel the course and you can not reschedule your course for another time a cancelation with refund may be accepted at Instructor discretion
- One Month Notice – Full Refund less incurred costs
- One Week Notice – Partial Refund less incurred costs
- 24 hour notice – No Refund
